Marketing & Social Media Coordinator (Part-Time/Volunteer)

📢 Role:The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for leading digital marketing efforts to raise awareness about the nonprofit’s mission, projects, and fundraising initiatives. This role involves managing social media accounts, creating engaging content, and promoting campaigns and events to engage the community and drive support for the organization’s goals.


Key Responsibilities:

✅ Social Media Management & Website Updates

  • Manage and update the nonprofit’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

  • Ensure website content is regularly updated with relevant information, events, and initiatives.

✅ Content Creation & Campaigns

  • Create and curate engaging content, including blogs, videos, newsletters, and social media posts.

  • Develop creative campaigns to promote fundraising efforts, events, and community outreach programs.

✅ Promotion & Event Marketing

  • Develop strategies to promote fundraising campaigns, events, and volunteer opportunities.

  • Utilize social media platforms to drive traffic to the website and increase event participation.

✅ Monitoring Engagement & Analytics

  • Track and analyze social media and website metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts.

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on engagement data to improve future campaigns.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:
✔ Experience: At least 1-2 years in digital marketing, social media management, or content creation. Experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
✔ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (preferred, but not required for volunteers).
✔ Technical Skills:

Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Canva) and website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace).
Strong skills in photo/video editing and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
Familiarity with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and other analytics tools.
✔ Strong Writing & Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for crafting compelling content.
Ability to adapt tone and style to fit the nonprofit’s voice and resonate with the target audience.
✔ Creativity & Innovation:

Creative mindset with the ability to develop fresh and engaging ideas to promote the organization’s mission.
Strong eye for visual content creation and storytelling through various mediums.
✔ Attention to Detail & Time Management:

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
✔ Passion for Social Impact:

A genuine passion for community development, affordable housing, and nonprofit work.
Understanding of the nonprofit sector and commitment to promoting social causes.
